Hello Warren
2082 195:9.4 Religion does need new leaders, spiritual men and women who will dare to depend solely on Jesus and his incomparable teachings. If Christianity persists in neglecting its spiritual mission while it continues to busy itself with social and material problems, the spiritual renaissance must await the coming of these "NEW TEACHERS" of Jesus' religion who will be exclusively devoted to the spiritual regeneration of men. And then will these spirit-born souls quickly supply the leadership and inspiration requisite for the social, moral, economic, and political reorganization of the world. Jesus said: 155:6.7 I admonish you to give up the practice of always quoting the prophets of old and praising the heroes of Israel, and instead ASPIRE TO BECOME LIVING PROPHETS of the Most High and spiritual heroes of the coming kingdom. To honor the God-knowing leaders of the past may indeed be worth while, but why, in so doing, should you sacrifice the supreme experience of human existence: finding God for yourselves and knowing him in your own souls? It seems to me that Jesus is talking to anyone, so a NEW TEACHER could be any person (the apostles were just common folk) who does Our Father's will, honestly and bravely. You could be a New Teacher, all you have to do is to follow Jesus and lose your life, to find it in eternity. Best Regards RLara |
