Note made November 16, 2005: The Ubron posts carry a header that identifies the author, date and subject. However, Bruce Schuman
has closed these to access, and I cannot now positively identify these elements. The file date of this post was sometime in July, 2005. Phil: I have struggled for several days trying to create a post that would directly address your concerns, while still holding to the higher and more lofty goals of the Revelation. Then you posted this:
P.1447 - A righteous soul is more to be desired than
the sovereignty of all the earth. You were concerned about the torture aspect of the passage. You implied that Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, and a whole host of military, and civilian persons were in this category. It means that they will not survive into eternity. While this is a quotation from Buddhism which reflected something of the teachings of Melchizedek, it carries truth. If we find happiness in heaven such people will not reach heaven. I would like to take you back to another aspect. Thoughtless Living If the thoughtless are dead already many Urantians and many here on Ubron are already dead. They spout words, and may know the technicalities of their subjects, but are not deep thinkers. They cannot penetrate to the deeper implications of the teachings of the Urantia Papers. I recall something Jesus said: Matt 8:22 -- But Jesus said to him, "Follow me, and leave the dead to bury their own dead." |
While this is not quoted the same in the Urantia Papers the Gospel probably captures what Jesus actually said, a blistering remark. Two elements show the more cosmic minded, their deep thinking minds, and as forward looking personalities. P.192 - §1 The cosmic mind unfailingly responds (recognizes response) on three levels of universe reality. These responses are self-evident to clear-reasoning and deep-thinking minds. These levels of reality are: P.192 - §2 1. Causation--the reality domain of the physical
senses, the scientific realms of logical uniformity, the differentiation of the
factual and the nonfactual, reflective conclusions based on cosmic response.
This is the mathematical form of the cosmic discrimination. P.1400 - §7 Jesus possessed the ability effectively to mobilize all his powers of mind, soul, and body on the task immediately in hand. He could concentrate his deep-thinking mind on the one problem which he wished to solve, and this, in connection with his untiring patience, enabled him serenely to endure the trials of a difficult mortal existence--to live as if he were "seeing Him who is invisible." |
