You Want A Sign?

Note made November 14, 2005: Holly Carmichael and Jacques Lecouturier had engaged in an exchange in which they intellectualized an academic discussion on "signs of the times." To enlighten them, and correct their thinking I posted the following.

Holly, Jacques, and all interested:

Matt 16:1-4
And the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and to test him they asked him to show them a sign from heaven. He answered them, "When it is evening, you say, 'It will be fair weather; for the sky is red.' And in the morning, 'It will be stormy today, for the sky is red and threatening.' You know how to interpret the appearance of the sky, but you cannot interpret the signs of the times. An evil and adulterous generation seeks for a sign, but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of Jonah." So he left them and departed.

A great difference exists today, with our evil and adulterous generation. We have been given signs.

Don't you know how to interpret the signs?

I don't suppose Crop Circles are a sign?

I don't suppose our Celestial Visitors are a sign?

I don't suppose the general world deterioration is a sign? With bitterness and hatred everywhere.

You can interpret the weather but you cannot interpret the signs.

I will tell you of signs.

Matt 24:9-14 -- Then they will deliver you up to tribulation, and put you to death; and you will be hated by all nations for my name's sake. And then many will fall away, and betray one another, and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because wickedness is multiplied, most men's love will grow cold. But he who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the whole world, as a testimony to all nations; and then the end will come.

Are you ready? Will you be one who serves?

Matt 24: 27 For as the lightning comes from the east and shines as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of man.

Luke 17: 24 For as the lightning flashes and lights up the sky from one side to the other, so will the Son of man be in his day.

Don't you know what that means?

When Jesus returns he will come with a Great Light, flashing around the world. But that will not be a sign. That will mark his presence.

Then all hell will break loose.

Too late.
