Part V TRANQUILITY AND LOVE |
|
|
As given to Judy Tuttle:
The veil has been torn aside. It is no longer the advent of the Antichrist. He is here, now, amongst you, sitting gleefully upon his throne. It is time for the Sons of God to come together. This period will be very intense , but short, ending in the year 2000. You will witness *evil* the likes of which your mind could never possibly conceive. It is not necessary to make physical preparation. You will be surrounded by a cloak of spiritual tranquility and love. Fear not! This has been your purpose. You have our love and protection. "We will foster and conserve the higher spiritual types."
In this Part I shall discuss:
You will be surrounded
by a cloak of spiritual tranquility and love. Fear not! This has been your purpose. You have our love and
protection.
This statement has aroused concern in many individuals.
It has the tone and phraseology of messages which come out of the channeling
phenomena -- with a source in Caligastia.
Clearly, and obviously, Caligastia would not give
a message which so directly and explicitly exposes himself. "It is no longer
the advent of the Antichrist." "He is here now, amongst you." "He is sitting
gleefully on his throne."
If our planetary supervisors wished to talk directly
with us, and if they desired to provide reassurance to those of us who
are dedicated to God, how else could they have designed their statements?
The fact that Caligastia uses the same reassurances to his agents does
not lessen the value of these reassurances from God.
Does God then not have the power to envelope us
in his protection?
Caligastia brings bliss to his agents by penetrating
their minds. Michael brings his shield of tranquility and love by his power
as Creator.
In the first case a divine being violates the
integrity of the human soul. In the second case human mortals respond according
to their spiritual devotion.
Caligastia's cadre have no choice after they give
themselves to him. God's people have an unconditioned choice for their
spiritual allegiance.
This conflict raises a supremely important issue.
How do we know which comes from God, and which from the Devil?
We do so by our spiritual relationship. We have
an inherent inner ability to recognize that which comes from God, and that
which comes from the Devil. There are no rules, no laws, no master commands
from an unfriendly and antagonistic universe. While we may attempt to define
certain principles in grammatical structure of channeled messages, and
in style of content, in the end our assessment rests on this inner instinct.
If alarm bells go off in our minds, we should carefully appraise the material
on which our decisions rest. And then split the dead center of indecision.
Ultimately, our work, our spiritual purpose, and our dedication rests on
faith in God. No other means exists in the great contest between good and
evil which now unfolds about us.
p.2087 Jesus did not cling to faith in God as would a struggling soul at war with the universe and at death grips with a hostile
and sinful world; he did not resort to faith merely as a consolation
in the midst of difficulties or as a comfort in threatened despair; faith
was not just an illusory compensation for the unpleasant realities
and the sorrows of living. In
Now we can come to a better understanding of these
words of instruction which were offered to us. They were designed for our
use in a world trial which has no precedent in this universe.
Can we remain tranquil as abject terror unravels
around us? That will depend upon our faith in God. Will faith dominate
our minds and our hearts as these trials unfold? Will we have learned to
live in the very presence of our heavenly Father?
All depends on our spiritual maturity, and how
much we have desired these many years to grow in the grace of God.
p.1916 "And even you, Thomas, fail to comprehend what
I have been saying. Have I not all this time taught you that your
connection with the kingdom is spiritual and individual, wholly
a matter of personal experience in the spirit by the faith-realization
that you are a son of God? What more shall I say? The downfall of
nations, the crash of empires, the destruction of the unbelieving
Jews, the end of an age, even the end of the world, what have these
things to do with one who believes this gospel, and who has hid his
life in the surety of the eternal kingdom? You
who are God-knowing and gospel-believing have
already received the assurances of eternal life. Since
your lives have been lived in the spirit and for the Father, nothing
can be of serious concern to you. Kingdom builders, the accredited citizens
of the heavenly worlds, are not to be disturbed by temporal upheavals
or perturbed by terrestrial cataclysms. What does it matter to you who
believe this gospel of the kingdom if nations overturn, the age ends,
or all things visible crash, since you know that your life is the gift
of the Son, and that it is eternally secure in the Father? Having lived
the temporal life by faith and having yielded the fruits of the spirit
as the righteousness of loving service for your fellows, you can confidently
look forward to the next step in the eternal career with the same survival
faith that has carried you through your first and earthly adventure
in sonship with God.
Now do you understand why these words were given
to us?
Have we no prospect for eternal life? Do we not know that we must relinquish this life -- sooner or later. Then what does it matter if we are called upon to lay down our lives in service to our brothers and sisters? "Having lived the temporal life by faith and having yielded the fruits of the spirit as the righteousness of loving service for our fellows, we can confidently look forward to the next step in the eternal career." |
p.1108 Through religious faith the soul of man reveals itself and demonstrates the potential divinity of its emerging nature by the characteristic manner in which it induces the mortal personality to react to certain trying intellectual and testing social situations. Genuine spiritual faith (true moral consciousness) is revealed in that it:
1. Causes ethics and morals to progress despite inherent and adverse animalistic tendencies. 2. Produces a sublime trust in the godliness of God even in the face of bitter disappointment and crushing defeat. 3. Generates profound courage and confidence despite natural adversity and physical calamity. 4. Exhibits inexplicable poise and sustaining tranquillity notwithstanding baffling diseases and even acute physical suffering. 5. Maintains a mysterious poise and composure of personality in the face of maltreatment and the rankest injustice. 6. Maintains a divine trust in ultimate victory in spite of the cruelties of seemingly blind fate and the apparent utter indifference of natural forces to human welfare. 7. Persists in the unswerving belief in God despite all contrary
demonstrations of logic and successfully withstands all
8. Continues to exhibit undaunted faith in the soul's survival regardless of the deceptive teachings of false science and the persuasive delusions of unsound philosophy. 9. Lives and triumphs irrespective of the crushing overload of the complex and partial civilizations of modern times. 10. Contributes to the continued survival of altruism in spite of human selfishness, social antagonisms, industrial greeds, and political maladjustments. 11. Steadfastly adheres to a sublime belief in universe unity and divine guidance regardless of the perplexing presence of evil and sin. 12. Goes right on worshiping God in spite of anything and everything. Dares to declare, "Even though he slay me, yet will I serve him."
We know, then, by three phenomena, that man has a
divine spirit or spirits dwelling within him:
first, by personal experience -- religious faith;
second, by revelation -- personal and racial;
and third, by the amazing exhibition of such extraordinary and unnatural
reactions to his material environment as are illustrated by the foregoing recital of twelve spiritlike performances in the presence of the
actual and trying situations of real human existence. And there are still others.
And it is just such a vital and vigorous performance of faith in the domain of
Now do you understand why these words were given to us?
These are the conditions and challenges we must face:
Will you have a sublime trust in the godliness of God even in the face of bitter disappointment and
crushing defeat.
Will you display profound courage and confidence despite physical calamity.
Will you exhibits inexplicable poise and sustaining tranquillity notwithstanding acute physical suffering.
Will you maintain a mysterious poise and composure of personality in the face of maltreatment and the
rankest injustice.
Will you maintain a divine trust in ultimate victory in spite of the cruelties of a seemingly blind fate.
Will you persist in the unswerving belief in God despite all contrary demonstrations of logic. Will you
successfully withstand all intellectual sophistries.
Will you continue to exhibit undaunted faith in the soul's survival regardless of the deceptive teachings
of false science and the persuasive delusions of unsound philosophy.
Will you steadfastly adhere to a sublime belief in universe unity and divine guidance regardless of the
perplexing presence of evil and sin.
Will you go right on worshiping God in spite of anything and everything. Dare you to declare, "Even though
he slay me, yet will I serve him."
Now do you understand why these words were given to us?
Remember, we have the support of Michael himself in these worldly tribulations.
p.379 Though the Spirit of Truth is poured out upon all
flesh, this spirit of the Son is almost wholly limited in function and power by man's personal reception of
that which constitutes the sum and substance of the mission of the bestowal Son. The Holy Spirit is partly
independent of human attitude and partially conditioned by the decisions and cooperation of the will of man.
Nevertheless, the ministry of the Holy Spirit becomes increasingly effective in the sanctification and spiritualization of the
inner life of those mortals who the more fully obey the divine leadings.
Thus we should be able to recognize that our ability to respond to God's call is dependent upon the
pouring out of the Spirit of Michael. He envelopes all of his human servants with his cloak of tranquility and love. I can testify from personal experience that I have been held in
that cloak for more than thirty years, in spite of personal turmoil, private griefs, serious stumbling errors, and plain human blunders. Nothing in the vagaries of life, no matter
what magnitude, no matter the depth of grief and horror, can ever penetrate the shield which envelopes the sons and daughters of God.
But that Spirit is almost wholly limited by our personal reception of the sum and substance of his mission
to this earth. Ordinary human mortals, not responding to the sum and substance of the mission of Jesus, and Devil's agents, dedicated to the "AntiChrist," cannot be held within
that cloak. Neither can the vast majority of Urantians, from their purely human interpretation within the framework of the current intellectual and social order, benefit from that
Spirit. Hence, they cannot be of use in this amazing service.
All the children of God should now be able to recognize how this Great Revelation was designed for our
support and comfort in this time of deep spiritual crisis for renewal and attainment of the true brotherhood of man. How we use it, and how much it will support us, will depend
entirely on us in reaching toward God, in fully dedicated service.
