1994-2
Uffington White Horse, Woolston. Wiltshire. Formed 14th July

Note spokes from outer ring to inner ring, diametrically opposed.

Wilsford Down, Nr Devizes, Wiltshire.

Formed 15th July.

This formation was one of a selection of "Thought Bubble" designs which appeared in and around the Devizes area over the summer months. This particular shape was the only one to incorporate a large ring for the head section in the area. It's tail feature comprised over fourteen circles tampering down the hill finishing with an offset grapeshot.

Berwick Bassett, Nr Avebury, Wiltshire.

Formed Mid-July.

I change the chronological sequence to show similar 1994 designs.

Bishops Cannings, Nr Devizes, Wiltshire.

Formed 15th July.

Impressive Scorpion Formation over 400ft in length.

East Dean, Sussex. formed 23rd July

Pair formed within adjacent fields short distance to one another.

Beckhampton, Nr Avebury, Wiltshire.

Formed 14th August.

Deemed the Sleeping Serpent

East Ilsley, Oxfordshire.

Formed 14th August.

I include it here because it is nearly identical to the formation at East Dean, Sussex. Obviously manmade because of the distortions in the creation of the individual circles. This contrast permits one to compare the difference to those formations that are celestial in origin. See above.

Oliver`s Castle, Nr Devizes, Wiltshire.

Formed 26th July.

Oliver's Castle is an enormous elongated Hillfort situated just outside of the market town of Devizes. Since 1992 the Hillfort has seen a number of small formations, but none more so than in this year. Situated on the eastern side of it's banks was an enormous crescent formation which spanned nine tramlines, and contained three interlocking crescents. From the hillside it resembled an eye, but it's location was one of the most dramatic. A week after it's appearance a number of additional grapeshot circles scattered themselves around the original design, almost like an afterthought.

Uffcote , Nr Barbury Castle, Wroughton, Wiltshire. Formed Mid July.

The direction of the grain that was pushed down can be seen in the shadow images of the petals, apparently four different directions in each petal.

Ashbury, Nr Swindon, Oxfordshire.

Formed 26th July

The unusual design, stretching for nearly a half-mile, suggests it was not manmade. It incorporates solid circles, rings, and ringed circles. Note that it follows a tractor line.

West Overton, Nr Avebury, Wiltshire. Formed 28th July

A double opposite Figure 8 design with small grape shot outside the rim.

The signature double grape shot external to the circle appears in a number of formations and suggests those formations may be man made.

Froxfield, Nr Hungerford, Wiltshire.

Formed 4th August

Located near the A4 London Road, this enormous formation was known as 'The Flower' because of it's 2-fold petal design. The diameter was 360ft, with what can only be described as an immaculate floor pattern. The formation was so big it could only be appreciated from the air.

Note the trailing series of small solid circles outside the rim.

Spiders Web, Avebury Stone Circle, Nr Devizes, Wiltshire.

In wheat 10/11th August 1994

This is a spectacular formation because of its clear geometric design. The plot can be analyzed from concentric circles drawn from the exterior of the design on the ten arcs. This feature has attracted numerous persons.

Note the pattern of the grain between the outer circle and the first inner arc.
